STI SMART NAVIGATION

The goal

STI Smart Navigation is a web-based marketing and wayfinding system developed for STI — a prominent educational institution in the Philippines. The system serves dual purposes: marketing the institution's programs and facilities to prospective students, while providing an interactive navigation experience for campus visitors through Augmented Reality integration — all delivered entirely through the browser with no app installation required.

• Interactive campus map with room-level navigation and landmark tagging
• Browser-based AR mode that overlays directional cues when viewed through a mobile device camera
• Program catalog with filtering by strand, course type, and career path
• Events and announcements board synced with institutional updates
• Virtual tour integration for remote prospective students
• Admin panel for updating map data, room assignments, and campus content

How we did it

Built as a standard web application accessible across desktop and mobile browsers. AR features were implemented using WebAR technologies such as WebXR or a compatible JS library, enabling camera-based directional overlays directly from the browser without requiring any native app. The UI balances institutional credibility with an engaging, student-friendly visual language.

The result

A dual-purpose web system that simultaneously serves as a marketing tool for enrollment and a practical utility for campus navigation — reducing wayfinding friction for students while strengthening STI's digital presence, all from a single web platform.
